Global Footprint Network

Global Footprint

Global Footprint Network is a non-profit organization of “ecological accountants” measuring human pressure on the planet. This assignment was to create an annual report for the organization — a financial summary for the year. But, through the design process, an opportunity was uncovered to tell a bigger story that showed how Global Footprint's data can help nations prosper as the world faces more and more difficult challenges.

In addition to the digital version, a limited quantity booklet was produced on 100% recycled paper with soy inks for the organization's co-founder, Mathis Wackernagel. Mathis finds that handing them out, face-to-face, at conferences around the world is the best way to get the message out to the people who can affect change.

Because of their convenient small size and accessible charts on the environment, the books are thought of as keepsakes and referred to often.

These pages are dedicated to Global Footprint's financials with visual representations of how the organization's funds are earned and allocated.
