Impossible Foods  /  Impossible is creating meat and cheese from plants. The idea is that the taste that people love, which has always come from animal sources, can be enjoyed without negative health and environmental impacts. This branding assignment included identity, packaging and web site design, as well as hats, t-shirts and a food truck. The logo has four versions, each using a different animal to represent products the company is developing. A Wall Street Journal video on Impossible is here.


Edeniq  /  Edeniq (pronounced ee-DEN-ik) is a biofuel company using mechanical and biological processes to break down plant materials into sugars that become sustainable fuels or industrial materials. The work includes a new web site, identity, pitch deck, stationery and brand book. The leaf (from the Garden of Eden in the company name) and hexagon shape (from a sugar crystal) in the logo are combined to form a mixture of nature and science.


Hero Production / Identity for Hero Production. The company, owned by Heather Hero, produces photoshoots for brands such as Banana Republic, Levi's, Gap, and Dockers, as well as others outside the apparel industry.

Shanghai Sales  /  Logo for a sweater manufacturer, based on a traditional knit pattern.


Black Rebel Motorcycle Club  /  Tour logos for the band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Many of the logos were inspired by the band's interest in Russian military vernacular.


Trust  /  One of several logo explorations for a secret branding assignment. It wasn't selected, but it did help us find the right voice for the project.


Mascot  /  Mascot is a dog accessories company inspired by the owner's Boston Terrier, Max.


iMeet  /  iMeet is an online meeting room. Agency: muh-TAY-zik / HOF-her


Caltech  /  The new logotype was developed to help increase awareness for Caltech. It reinforces the name people use to refer to the school, instead of "California Institute of Technology." It reflects the Institute’s stature and is easy for all divisions to use. The traditional university seal is still used for formal and official applications, though it no longer communicates the school’s modern approach to science and technology. Noe Valley Association  /  Noe Valley is a neighborhood in San Francisco known for vegan food options, sidewalks packed with strollers, coffee shop regulars and victorian houses its hillsides.


Orinda Orthodontics  /  Proposed logo update for an orthodontist in Berkeley and Orinda, California.
